Don't let a computer teach me!

As the years go on and technology becomes more and more advanced, many people believe that computers should replace teachers at school. They claim that students will be taught better and faster with the computer as their "teacher".

I don’t think that it is a good idea. Computers can be very effective, they can teach the student faster than a human teacher would do, but they can't do the most important thing: to encourage the student to develop creative thinking. Students have to be taught how to be creative and the computer can't do it because machines can't teach how to be creative, so if a computer replaces the teacher, the students won't learn how to think outside the box.

In addition, when the student makes a mistake, the teacher should correct him and explain to him how to get the right answer. That way, he gains confidence and knows what he should do. If a computer has to correct a mistake, it will show the correct answer without giving an explanation or encouraging the student to do better with a smile.

To sum up, I don’t think that a computer can or should replace a human teacher. A computer can't encourage students to be able to think creatively and can't help them get the confidence that they need in order to succeed.

Not bad, but, surprisingly, there quite a few grammar mistakes. Please correct your work.

Young Drivers

Every day we hear about accidents which involve young drivers. Most of the drivers drink alcohol and then drive, so they are less concentrated on the road and the chances for an accident increases.The young drivers say that they are too young to make the right decisions so no one should blame them. An organization of accident victims has recently proposed that the age for getting a driver's license should be raised to 19. I don't think it is a good idea.

I don't think there is a huge difference between the age of 17 and 19. I think that when someone has reached the age of seventeen he is mature enough to understand the risks on the road. Moreover, this decision won't be effective since young people at the age of 19 drink alcholol too before they drive, so there won't be any difference and it won't reduce the amount of accidents.

I suggest a new law, which forces the young drivers to be more careful on the road.They will be forced to take a 30 day course, which will teach them to be more responsible, and the risks of drinking and then driving. At the end of the course they will be tested and they will have to pass the test in order to be able to get their license.

To sum up, I don't think it will be a good idea to increase the age of getting a driver's license to 19 because there won't be any difference. But if the purpose is to reduce the amount of accidents, the new rule that I suggested will be effective.

"The Internet has changed our lives". This is what we hear almost every day. Today, in the technology age, people can't live without the computer and especially without the Internet. Most of the people in the world use the Internet every day, and it is the most powerful source that the world has to offer.

The Internet has a lot of advantages. It has a lot of information in it, so if you are looking for something, you will get all the information that you want. For example, I had to prepare an English project about Kobe Bryant, and most of the information came from the Internet. Another advantage of the internet is that you don't have to leave your home in order to use it. It is very easy to use, so, in fact, it is the best source.

However, the Internet has some disadvantages. The first is the fact that the Internet is addictive. It has so much to offer, therefore you feel like you have to be there for hours each day. Then you have no time for sports or even hang out with friends. So, it damages your body and your social life. Another disadvantage is that the people who use the Internet are exposed to all kind of bad information, like pornography and other people, who want to take advantage of them. For example, my friend met a guy on the Internet, they met in real life and the guy was a delinquent, who robbed my friend.

To conclude, The Internet has so many advantages and disadvantages. You can find so much information and it can better your life. I think that people should use the Internet, but they should be careful and play on the Internet no more than 3 hours per day, so they have time to exercise and meet their friends.

Settle Conflicts Peacefully

These days, most of the children use violence in order to settle their conflicts. I believe that children should be taught to settle their conflicts peacefully and not use violence, and I will suggest two ways of doing that.

First, the teachers or the parents of the kid should take part in this and explain why the kid should not use violence and how bad it could be for him. The responsible adult should teach the kid how to solve his problems by talking and not by using violence.

In addition, I suggest the schools run a new program that will encourage children to behave properly by giving them a prize or an award when they settle their conflicts peacefully. With this program both sides will be happy and the problem will be solved.

To sum up, the children should be taught to settle their conflicts peacefully by their parents and their teachers. If the parents encourage them to do so, and to be satisfied with the results, they will realize in which way they should choose.

Students' Knowledge

Many students say that the Bagrut exams are the most reliable way of testing a student's knowledge. I must say that I don't support their opinion. I think that the Bagrut exams are not the most reliable way of testing the student's knowledge.

In my opinion, many students tend to fail the Bagrut exams because of the pressure. We all know that the Bagrut's grade is the most important thing in school. At the end of the day, the university will take a look at the Bagrut's grade and then decide whether to accept him or not and this fact makes students panic before the exam and then their grade is not what it was supposed to be.

In addition, the amount of material in the exams is huge, so most of the students don't have enough time to learn it and then they are not perfectly prepared for the test. Sometimes even the level studied in class doesn't match with the level of the Bagrut and then the student feel that the exam was not fair and they have to repeat it.

I suggest that the teachers give the students more challenging homework and tasks and then value their work. Another way is to see how the students handle the teacher's test.
To sum up, I don't think that the Bagrut exam is the most reliable way of testing a student's knowledge, and I hope that the teachers test the students differently, in order to figure what is the real knowledge of the student.

Trip Description

Two monthes ago, my class and I went on a class trip to a place called "Meigal". "Meigal" is a scientific center, which teaches students how to conduct researches and explore the science. The trip was exhausting, but it was also a good experience, which I learned from.

During the trip, we heard many lectures that were exhausting and talked about subjects that didn't really interest me. But, there were a few good lectures that were very good and I really learned from them. So on the whole, the lectures were a good experience.

On the social aspect, the trip was great. I had a good time with my friends, we played pool, ate and slept together. Moreover, during the trip we conducted experiments together, which improved our teamwork. Also, we learned new facts which can help us in the future.

To sum up, although part of the trip was boring, I enjoyed and liked most of the activities we did there. It was a good experience and a great time with my friends, so I can say that it was a success.

Today's technology allows the use of virtual schools. Students are no longer required to study in a regular school but study via the web, with the supervision of their teacher. The students learn at home with their personal computer and when they need help, they can email their classmates or their teacher.

Virtual classes have many advantages. The first is the fact that the students don't have to leave their homes in order to study. It is definitely a better studying environment because you have your own peace and it may come up with better results for the students. Moreover, the students, who use the web, can learn whenever they want to and nobody forces them to study. The level of learning is being increases because if a student learns it means he wants to.

However, virtual classes come up with many disadvantages.
The fact that you are studying alone, can cause to a situation when after a while you will be tired and give up school.
Also, when you learn through the web and not in a regular school with your classmaths, the soical experience is damaged and it can lead to a boring life, without going out and meeting friends.

I think that despite the disadvantages of the program, it may improve your level of learning and your grades. So in my opinion, this is a good reason to encourage this kind of learning all over the world.

In order to fix the problem, the government should lower the high price of the trip. Another possibility is that the school will pay half of the price, and then more students will be able to pay and join the journey.

A Summer's Reading

George, a twenty year old man, is described as a lazy young man, with a meaningless life, who lives in a poor and worthless neighborhood.
He dropped out of school at the age of sixteen because he couldn't stand the teachers there. So, he lacks knowledge, and now he is doing nothing with his life and he doesn't have a job.

The writer describes George as a hopeless man, that does not get any support from his family. His father is poor and doesn't have time to help George. His sister works in a cafeteria, she earns little money and what she earns she keeps for herself. So, George doesn't get any support from his family and that is one of the reasons for his lack of education. Also, George's environment isn't a good place to grow and succeed in life.

The most important relationship in George's life is with Mr.Cat. Mr.Cat is George's neighbor, he is a very intelligent man, he reads the newspaper from the first page to the last. Mr.Cat made George change his attitude to life, he knew that George wasn't reading like he promised, but he didn't tell George that he knew, he wanted George to understand his mistake and change his behavior. Also, that's why Mr.Cat is called the change maker.

To sum up, George is described as a lazy man, that has no support from his family and life in a hopeless neighborhood, but in the end, thanks to Mr.Cat, George finally changes his attitude to life and starts trying to get an education.

This is better, but you still have a bit of work to do.

"The Ballad of the Sad Cafe", by Carson McCullers, is a thriller novel that was published in 1951. It is a mystery book with many conflicts and fights between the main characters, that teaches the readers about love and hate. I did not really like the story, maybe because it is an old novel that is not relevant to these days.

Miss Amelia, an independent, lonely and rich woman, owns a small store in Georgia. Her life is miserable, she lives alone until the day her cousin, Lymon comes to town. Toghther, they turn the store into a cafe, he helps her with everything she needs and soon he becomes her beloved.

The cafe becomes a meeting place for all of the townspeople, and the reletionship between Amelia and Cousin Lymon becomes even closer, until the day Marvin Macy is back in town.

Marvin Macy was Amelia's husband for 10 days, she didn't love him and was cruel to him, so he left the house. After a while he came back to ruin Amelia's life. He stole Cousin Lymon’s devotion and Amelia's ability to love. The story ends just like it began, with a portrait of a sad town that has nothing to hope for.

To sum up, The story shows the readers what hate and love are and how one mistake, that you did in the past, can destory your whole life and all your hopes. In my opinion, "The Balad of The Sad Cafe" is recommend for all the novel lovers, but maybe for novel haters this book will be irritating.

Alice Brown says that people need to be more responsible for what they eat. She talks about eating unhealthy food and how it influences us. She claims that people who eat unhealthy food, such as white bread and sweets, become more agressive than they were when they were eating healthy food. Also, she explains how it effects our mental behavior.

In my opinion, the consumers should be responsible for what they eat. Most of the manufacturers write down what their food consists of. So, if the consumers know that the food they eat is bad for them and they still eat it, they should take the blame for their poor health condition.

In addition, no one is telling us to buy or eat unhealthy food, we have the right to choose what to do and what to eat. So, if we choose to eat unhealthy food, while we are aware of the risks it includes, we have to take the responsibility for our health.

To sum up, I think that the consumers should be responsible for what they eat, after all, no one is telling us what to eat. People or consumers can decide what to eat while they are aware of the fact that it can effect their health.

Concerning the article "Gilad Shalit: The Last Jew in Gaza", I would like to express my opinion. I support the article, I think the issue that you talked about is very important and all of us should be aware of the fact that Gilad has been captured for much too long.

Gilad Shalit, a soldier in the Israeli army, has been captured by Hamas, and since then we all worry about him. I think that the government and especially the prime minister of Israel should try to get Gilad home. If he doesn't, how can an eighteen year old soldier believe in his country and be sure that if one day he is captured, the government will do what ever it takes to get him home whole and healthy.

Sayed Kashua, a father with two children talks about the fears of the first day at school. He talks about his fears when he was a student and now his son's fears. He tries to lie to his son to make him feel happy and comfortable about the new begining, but it doesn't help and he doesn't want to go to school.

I support Sayed Kashua. I have heard many cases of kids having fears from going back to school. some of them just want to be alone and can't live in a place with rules, and some are just afraid that their classmates will make fun of them and bother them.

In addition, there are kids who can't handle the pressure at school, they have to do homework every day, and sometimes they are afraid of the tests. In order to succeed in school you have to work hard, this fact can upset kids.

To sum up, I agree with Sayed's arguments. Some kids are afraid and have fears from going to school, and I think every parent of these kids should help them adapt to school life.

Facebook was created to provide teenagers's requests. They can talk with other teenagers all around the world, and in this way they can meet new people. However, facebook is not the most likely site to use because there are some teenagers who take advantage of others through facebook.

Those teenagers open hate groups and try to get as much people as they can to express their feelings about other teenagers. The big problem is that no one really can stop those groups.
If the facebook managers try to close it, everybody will say that they harm the freedom of the teenagers to express themselves.

Also, the miserable teenager can't really do anything, as long as the group gets bigger and larger more people hate him. He can't stop it unless he makes his own group which will explain why they shouldn't hate him. The power and the speed of the Internet makes those teenagers suffer, and that's really bad.

To conclude, Facebook maybe gives the chance for talking and meeting with other people, but I think it harms more than it helps and it can destroy the teenagers' lives.

School uniform

All around the world, people wonder why they have to wear a school uniform instead of wearing their own clothes. Most of the schools won't let you come into school if you don't wear the school uniform. In their opinion, all the students must wear the school uniform.

The school uniform has many advantages, one of them is the fact that when all the students in the school wear the same clothes, it makes them feel equal and comfortable because it's tie the socio-economic gap between them.
Another advantage of the school uniform is that some students spend a lot of time choosing what they are going to wear for school, the school uniform prevents this waste of time in the morning.

However, the school uniform has disadvantages.
When all the students wear the same clothes, it looks like no one is special, every student looks just the same as the other and we can think that there is no difference between them. Another disadvantage of school uniform is that it harms the students' freedom and their way to express themselves. When the students must wear the school uniform, they don't have the freedom to choose what they want to wear and it hurts them and their self-expression.

To conclude, the school uniform has advantages and disadvantages.
I think that every school should ask their students if wearing a school uniform bothers them, and if it does they should cancel the school uniform and let the students wear what they want.

The McCalls

Burge McCall hated his wife. He was a short, heavy-set man with a loud voice.
He did'nt like the way his wife looked at him, it made him nervous. Mrs. McCall was a tall, thin woman with black hair and big black eyes, she never had much to say.

Burge was a "lady killer", his other wives ran away from him and got divorced.
Mr. and Mrs. McCall didn't love each other, they had lived together most unpleasantly for three years and four months. Burge was stingy with his wife, he liked to spend all his money on himslef and was generous with other women. He undoubtedly was a bad husband.

Burge McCall never could understand his wife, when he called her names, she never answered back. She just looked at him, and he hated her even more for that.
One day, Burge slapped Mrs. McCall, and he expected her to throw something at him or curse him but she just said: "McCall, you are a big rat" and looked at him again.

After a while, someone told Burge that he saw his wife buying a pound of rat poison, Burge asked why she bought it and the man told him that she wanted to poison a big rat. At first, McCall didn't suspect anything, but then he started to think about it and remembered that she had called him a big rat. He became nervous and decided to be a better husband and to be nicer to his wife.

In the end, Burge died after two years of loving his wife, he even called her honey!
which means that he changed his atitude towards her. In my opinion, those two should never have married because they didn't love each other.
But still, I think that Burge realized his mistake and in my opinion he deserved to get another chance to try correct their relationship.

Homework has always been an issue that some kids love and others hate. Also, in the past few years many students question the necessity of homework, so is it really necessary?

Homework is the way that the teachers can diagnose their students.
Homework helps them see if their students know the material well and if they can handle it by themselves. Also, by cheaking homework the teachers can see the level of the stundents and prepare them for the coming test.

However, many students think that homework is a kind of punishment.
They don't think it can help them, they think that the lessons in the class are enough and they don't need to "practice" the material at home.
Some of them just too lazy and don't realize that homework has importance, if you can make your homework well, you will probably do well in the test.

To conclude, there are students who prefer more and more homework, and some are satisfied with going into class. I think that homework is necessary, it helps me practice and understand the matiriel, also I can remember what we did in class.

Space explorations has many advantages. One of them is the determination to discover new things in our world, which can make it even better than it's now. However, space exploration has many disadvantages. The cost of it is very high, only big companies and rich people can afford it. Another disadvantage of space exploration is the danger of it, when you are launched into space you take a risk that can possibly cost your life. For example, Ilan Ramon, an Israeli astronaut, died after he was launched to space on the "Columbia" spaceship.

We usually hear about cases like this, a case that sometimes we can't fight against, and no matter what we do, it`s usually the wrong way to act. This case describes peer pressure and Its a very big problem all over the world.

Sometimes, teenagers and adults do something that they don't really want to, but the peer pressure makes them do it without considering the influences and the results of their act. The War in Gaza

I am sixteen and I live in Holon.
I would like to state my opinion about the situation in Gaza.

First, I must say that I support the israeli army. I think that this war is unavoidable, Hamas is launching missiles on us and we have to defend ourselves.
The only way to stop Hamas and the terror is to fight back and to break down the Hamas which is trying to kill the Israeli citizens.
In addition, I cant understand why didn't we attack the Hamas right after the first missile 8 years ago and had to wait until those days, the days that all the people in the south have to live in a horrible situation which we just think we can understand,but we don't.

To sum up, I think that this war is the only way to handle with this situation.
And although the war in Gaza, and maybe because of it, I think we are on the right way to peace.

Dear Almog
Hi, how are you? I hope everything is going well.
I am sorry I haven't written in a while, I was busy, I had so many tests so I didn't have any spare time,but now I do have some spare time and that's why I am writing you this letter.
I want to share with you something that happened to me one week ago. I was walking alone in the street, the time was 3 AM. I guess you are asking your self why did I walk alone In the middle of the night, so the answer is I was bored.

So, like I said, I was walking alone In the street and then I saw a few boys, I think they were 18. Anyway, they were laughing about something so I tried to get closer to hear what they were saying, and I was shocked to see an old lady lying on the floor, bleeding all over her face. I was so scared, I couldn't belive It, they were hitting her and laughing. I decided to call the police. After ten minutes the police arrived, and they took those boys with them to the police station. Before the police went away they invited an ambulance for the lady.

One hour later, after the paramedic was done with his treatment to the lady, she said softly to me: "Thank you, you saved my life".
I haven't realized what I have done yet, I really saved someone's life.

Hi,The place that I am going to talk about is "The Ice Space" In Eilat . All the things in this place are made of ice and the temperature there is -8 degrees which is very very cold.

Its location is in the center of Eilat, near the sea and in the middle of the promenade.

"The Ice Space" placed in a very beatiful and exotic area.

The "Ice Space" was built by 200 workers and by Chris Pank, the man who created all the idea and the arts with ice.

. I was there in "sukot" vacation and I enjoyed being in this place very much,I was there with my family and my cousins while we were In Eilat.

When we all went outside this place all the family was excited and told each other it was a great adventure and really fun

To concluse all I can say that I really enjoyed our visit in "Ice Space" and I would like to go there again as soon as I can.

Hi, My name is Ravid and I am going to tell you about a speicel person. He is my father and his name is Erez. We have a lot of things in common, we both like sport games, like football and tennis.

My connection with my father is very good,He always understand me and somtimes, He even give me advices how should I act In his opinion.

Whenever I need help, he comes to help me and so do I. He works hard in an insurance company, which call Phonix, so most of the time he doesn't have much spare time.

My father's interest is computers, He work as a developer of computer programs.

I think that In the future I will work with computes too because its my favored subject.

We usually go to "Briza" (a sport club) to swim, play football and tennis. Althogh he isnt the best player, I enjoy playing with him.

We usually go to the cinema to watch a movie toghter or we stay home and watch TV.

Somtimes I dont agree with what he is doing becuase I think he can do it in a better way,but still. no one is perfect and I love him as he is.

Hi, My name is Ravid. I'm 15.5 years old, I study at the 10th grade in Kugel Higeschool in Holon. I have brown eyes, black hair and I think my weight and my hight are averege.I have two sisters, the oldest call Adi, she is 19 years old.

My little sister is Sapir ,she is 11 years old.

I like to play football, basket ball tennis and In fact I like almost every sport games. When I come back from school I watch TV while eating lunch. After that I play on my computer or I go out to play football with my friends.

In my spare time I hang out with my friends , we go to the mall or just talk in the msn.

Most of the time I like school, somtimes I wish my lessons will end and I will go back home, but somtimes I enjoy school. lessons can be fun too.

My expections about my self this year is to do well at school, especially in math and english.

Also, i will try to enjoy learning and to know more things.

To sum up all I can say i like my school and my new class, but anyway I cant wait to hear the last ring of the school's bell, for the begining of the big vacation.
